AIDS to NAVIGATION

For many years FLOATEX has been deeply involved in the design and manufacture of a wide range of navigational aids. The traditionally constructed steel buoys are still manufactured in addition to those built with the latest and most updated rotomoulded P.E. Rotomoulded expanded PU foam or GRP technology and materials.
FLOATEX elastic beacons are designed and produced with the aid of a dedicated fully computerized stability and performance calculation program.
FLOATEX produces as well a variety of pole beacons, GRP or rotationally moulded P.E. towers and other accessories. Particular care has been taken in the design and manufacture of the marine lanterns and their electronics, fully equipped with different power sources such as primary batteries, main power or solar energy systems.
All those materials and equipment are designed and produced in accordance to the IALA recommendations and specifications as well as quality tested with the assistance of qualified third party inspections and laboratory facilities such as the Italian military navy or the D.G.S.M. in the Netherlands.

ES60 MARINE LANTERN

FLOATEX has designed the Marine Lantern for short light signalling requirements and occasional respectively provisional applications.
It has specifically been designed for application on buoys and pontoons in inland waterways, estuaries, harbours or for use on small buoys in open sea conditions.
Its reduced size allows easy installation on any structure, and the comparatively low cost makes it the very equipment for secondary lighting for emergency purposes.
It is extremely sturdy due to the use of high-grade material, ABS for the base and acrylic for lensing, and offers a perfect water tightness due to the gasket fitting.
The feeding cable passage can be positioned either under the lantern base or side.
The photocell (sun switch) is mounted on the lampholder cup, ensuring lighting only during the night time.
The solid structure as a whole and easy lens interchangeability make ES60 a manysided signalling assembly which is easy to install.

ES110 MARINE LANTERN

The ES110 Marine Lantern with its characteristics, is a very efficient and versatile aid for navigation.
It consists of a modern appositely designed Fresnel profiled dioptric drum, made of acrylic material with highly refractive properties, adding to the efficiency of the lantern.
This type of marine lantern allows easy inside inspection and needs no specific maintenance. It splits into two bodies placed on each other and is connected by means of hinged locking flange.
Six fastening screws divided around the top body flange provide for perfect tightness through a rubber gasket.
The reinforced nylon made base houses the lighting assembly and the on/off switch related device.
FLOATEX if so desired can provide this type of marine lantern with different electronic system.
Fixed light, single or composed precodified light characteristics programmable flasher is available.
The solid lantern construction permits easy installation on buoys, beacons, causeways, marine platforms and fixed onshore structures. The lantern is qualified for light range requirements between 3 and 4 nautical miles.
The switch device can be lodged inside the lantern or in the base and makes the lantern work only at night precluding undue waste of energy and giving longer signalling autonomy with consequent reduction of common servicing attendance.

ES155-XF MARINE LANTERN


The ES155-XF Marine Lantern with characteristics, as shown here, is a most efficient and versatile aid for navigation. It consists of a modern appositely designed Fresnel profiled dioptric drum, made of acrylic material with highly refractive properties, adding to the efficiency of the lantern.

ES155LC256 MARINE LANTERN

ES250LC256 MARINE LANTERN


The extraordinary sturdiness, due to the material used and the major accuracy level of the acrylic lens profile, make the 250 lantern a most valuable and modern assembly for marine signalling.
The acrylic lens makes the light intensity twice that of normal glass moulded optics of similar diameter.
The light weight structure of the acrylic lens enables FLOATEX to bring about a high-efficiency lantern.
The lantern itself is made up of two bodies placed on each other and connected by means of a hinged locking flange.
Lens fitting is established by means of a mounting ring.
Fastening screws divided around the top and body flange provide for perfect tightness through a rubber gasket.
The base of the 250 lantern has been prepared to insert different types of flashers and lampchangers.
The standard lantern type is supplied with a FLCG-256 static electronic flasher, internally programmable with a portable 12 V powered codifier and automatic six-place lampchanger moved by solenoid spring type PPC-6P.
The sun switch device, assembled on the lantern base, permits lighting only by night; undue waste of energy is prevented in this way prevented and a longer signalling lifetime with a reduction of common maintenance intervention successfully obtained.
The solid lantern body allows easy installation on small floating structures like buoys, beacons, marine platforms and fixed constructions onshore.
The ES250 Marine Lantern complies with light range requirements between 5 and 10 nautical miles whereas a bigger reach can be achieved with dual lanterns on fixed onshore structures.

ES305LC256 MARINE LANTERN


The extraordinary sturdiness, due to the material used and the superior accuracy level of the acrylic lens profile make the 305 lantern a most valuable and modern assembly for marine signalling. The acrylic lens makes the light intensity to twice as much as normal glass moulded optics of even diameter.
The light-weight structure of the acrylic lens enables FLOATEX to bring about a high-efficiency lantern.
The lantern itself is made up of two bodies placed on each other, connected by means of a hinged locking flange. Fastening screws divided around the top and body flange provide for perfect tightness through a rubber gasket. The base of the 305 lantern has been prepared to insert different types of flashers and lampchangers. The exact focusing of the bulb filament is achieved through a special FLOATEX aligning and centring system. The standard lantern is supplied with a static electronic flasher type FLCG-256 internally programmable with a micro switch and an automatic six-place lampchanger model PPC-6P. The sun switch device, assembled on the lantern base, permits lighting only by night; undue waste of energy is thereby prevented and a longer signalling lifetime with a reduction of common maintenance intervention successfully obtained.
The solid lantern body allows easy installation on small floating structures like buoys, beacons, marine platforms and fixed constructions onshore.
The ES305 Marine Lantern complies with light range requirements between 8 and 12 nautical miles whereas greater ranges can be achieved with dual lanterns on fixed onshore structures.

LED60-ML MARINE LANTERN

CSP-405 AND CSP-410

This Compact Solar Power system has been designed for applications where a complete signalling system is required.
The system is composed of a polyethylene pyramid shell housing, suitable to contain a battery, complete with stainless steel fastening bolts, solar panel and lantern.
The standard marine lantern on CSP is LED120-256 with clear acrylic cover and reinforced nylon base, fixed to the base with locking screws, but other lanterns can be used.
The internal electrical light system is composed of a programmable flasher, solar regulator, sunswitch, Light Emitters Diode visible at approximately 2,8 nautical miles (with LED120-256).
The power supply system is made of a sealed battery pack with minimum 10 days autonomy in case of prolonged sun absence.
The battery pack is charged by solar photovoltaic module. The standard system is supplied with four solar modules.
The Compact Solar Power signalling system can be applied on poles, docks or small buoys.

120SEC MARINE LANTERN

The 120SEC Marine Lantern system has been designed for applications where a complete small signalling system is required.
The system is formed by new lantern with 120 mm clear polycarbonate lens and reinforced nylon base, fixed together with locking screws.
The internal electrical light system is composed by a 6 light emitters diodes, simple flasher, sunswitch, battery and solar power module.
It has a small solar panel on the top of the lantern and has an internal battery.

ROTATING BEACON CEE-683

FLOATEX has designed the CEE 683 rotating beacon for medium range light marking (up to 20 nm) and for operations in harsh environment.
The beacon includes:

1) ELECTRONIC CONTROL CIRCUIT

> Daylight switch control
Using a photo resistor sensor and appropriate logic circuitry, it switches the beacon ON and OFF at preset ambient daylight levels.
> Turntable speed control
Controls the drive mechanism speed within the range 0.5 up to 10 RPM with an accuracy of ± 1%. The speed control circuit also adapts the motive force to the instant resistant torque variations of the revolving assembly.
> Lamp control
The control circuit provides the regulated power supply to the lamp and switch over the second lamp filament in case of failure of the first filament.
> Control and display panel
Five controls are available on a small panel located in the base, protected by a transparent and removable plastic cover.
- RPM speed display switch
- Revolution direction selector
- “Energy saving” switch
- Daylight level potentiometer
- Revolution speed control
> Seven indicators are also provided:
- Three digit speed display
- High speed warning (red led)
- Low speed warning (red led)
- Lamp first filament in service (green led)
- Lamp second filament in service (red led)
- Daylight switch operation (yellow led)
- Day-time rotation OFF (yellow led)
- Energy saving program enabled.
These led’s provide a visual check of the beacon’s operation. All malfunctions displayed by the LEDs may also be remotely transmitted. Each led corresponds to a set of dry contacts (max. current 1 Amp) that can be used to switch any kind of buzzer, telephone or radio monitoring system.

2) GEARLESS AND BRUSHLESS TURNTABLE

The turnable consist in a light alloy flat disk bearing the optical encoder track and 56 permanent magnets providing a smooth rotation when the three fixed electromagnets installed in the basement are suitably excited. The turntable may rotate clock-wise or counter clock-wise at the user’s choice.
The revolving assembly is borne by a stainless steel shaft bearing on two high duty ball-bearings.

3) OPTICAL ARRAY

Made of an octaedric cage where up to 8 flat acrylic Fresnel lenses can be mounted. The cage can accommodate blank panels and coloured filters. Any characters recommended by IALA can be obtained from the infinite combinations of revolution speeds and lenses/blanking panels arrangements.

4) CASING

The beacon is contained in a waterproof casing consisting of:
- GRP red octahedral basement, equipped with transparent control panel cover and socket for electrical connections (power supply, ancillary circuitry, remote control, etc.).
- Acrylic transparent drum obtained through centrifugal processes (welding free).
- GRP conical red cover with bird-spike.
The cover can be removed (for lamp replacement) without tools. The beacon is water-tight and can be installed without any other protection.

FBL-064 ELECTRONIC FLASHER

FBL-064 electronic flasher is one of the elements constituting the standard electronic system as self-contained in the FLOATEX lanterns.
This flasher has been studied to grant maximum efficiency and, in installations on buoys, gives full reliability and high resistance.
The electronic schedules of the flasher are lodged in an appropriate aluminium and plastic container from where the electric connections put out.
The whole has extremely reduced dimensions, which make that the flasher can be housed even in very restricted spaces.
Main characteristic of the flasher FBL-064 is the programmability of the light characteristics in most used sequences required by the international IALA standard norms.

PPC-6P AUTOMATIC LAMPCHANGER

This automatic lampchanger is one of the elements constituting the standard electronic system as self-contained in the FLOATEX lanterns.
This has been studied to grant maximum efficiency including for installation on buoys imposing full reliability and high resistance conditions.
The six-place PPC-6P lampchanger has been made in a strong aluminium structure for 6 place lampholding spool.
The spool can be connected with lamp connection P15s with vertical prefocused filament type C8 or CC8 and bulb S8, S11 or bulb for halogen lamps and movement commanded by a solenoid/spring.
The flasher upon the circuit being interrupted by detachment of a bulb filament sends an impulse to the solenoid spring moving it one place up and so putting the next bulb in operation.
The combination of both these devices has enabled FLOATEX to bring out an electronic system for a most modern, reliable and efficient signalling therewith offering their customers the possibility of using a lighting system duly operating even under difficult environmental conditions with hardly any maintenance or attendance interventions.
This Flasher is covered by Italian and international patent.

MARINE SIGNAL LAMPS

FLOATEX Marine Lantern Bulbs have been constructed in agreement with current specifications ensuring a minimum 1000 hours operative lifetime.
Deviations from the specified voltage alter the output light-intensity and thereby with the standard lifetime as scheduled.
The bulb filaments are spiral to reduce the cooling effect brought about by the conventional currents during the process of gas filling thus maintaining the filament’s optimal temperature.
Some filaments have a double-serpentine shape resulting in an enlarged surface to give a major output light-intensity without increasing the temperature of the filament itself.
This permits to increase the light ranges without no enlargement of the battery sizes.
Consequently the alternative use of this type of bulb allows to maintain the required light range with reduced autonomy of the system.
Single-filament bulbs can be used on our automatic standard lampchanger and most of the flashers of foreign make as their bases are standardised types recognized for marine lanterns.
Double-filament bulbs are available for installations being regularly inspected and easier to approach, and for which the customer does not deem it necessary to fit an automatic lampchanger.
The special bayonet-like P15s attachment has grooves and eccentrically spaced holes to make sure that the bulb is always mounted on its own support with the filament duly aligned to the lens.
Any type of marine lantern can be equipped properly and safety in this way.
Halogen lamp belong to the “incandescent” family, but they offer numerous advantages with respect to traditional bulbs: compact dimensions, high level of light efficiency, whiter light with bright tones, 2000 h life.

Light Emitting Diode FLOATEX kit is designed to drastically reduce the time of maintenance.
Light Emitting Diode lamp has a medium life of 100000 hours against 1000 hours’ life of a single filament lamp that means 10 times more than expected.
LED Technology produces monocromatic lights in several colours with the aim to obtain a more brilliant and vivid light than the normal lamps.

SPWL A - B WINKERLIGHTS FOR FLOATING HOSES

The new Solar Powered WinkerLight (SPWL), type A or B, is available in two configurations, tall and short, and has been designed as a special signalling device easy to mount on the flanges of floating sealines.
A set of opposite attachments allows to fix the lantern body to the flange of any hose diameter.
Two different models can be offered by FLOATEX the first model with high focal plane or the second model with lower focal plane.
It is up to the user to make a choice between these two types according to the distance of mooring cables floating lines in the vicinity of the installation.
An electronic circuit ensures low consumption even in proportion to the light range of 2 nm, whereas the use of high-thickness shot blasted and galvanized steel structure provides for suitable resistance.
The winkerlight SPWL type for floating lines basically consist of three sections:
- Top steel plate complete with bow for lantern protection.
- Central section ending at the top in a flange for to fit the lantern and the bottom with locking bolts which fixes bracket flange.
- A special semi circular steel piece with eyelet holes and different diameters suited for the hose on which to mount the lantern, provides for connection between the lantern and the flange of the floating line to be marked.
All steel materials are shot blasted to white metal, galvanized cover and painted with grade marine paint.

WL60 A - B WINKERLIGHTS FOR FLOATING HOSES

The WL60 winkerlight is available in two configurations, tall and short, and has been designed as a special signalling device easy to mount on the flanges of floating sealines.
A set of opposite attachments allows to fix the lantern body to the flange of any hose diameter.
Two different models can be offered by FLOATEX one with tubular battery container and high focal plane or another with box type battery container and lower focal plane.
It is up to the user to make a choice between these two types according to the distance of mooring cables floating in the vicinity of the installation.
To reduce the minimum for battery replacement to a minimum, FLOATEX has designed this type of light signal with a considerable working autonomy, and with a sturdy solid structure.
An electronic circuit ensures low consumption even in proportion to the light range of 1 nm, whereas the use of high-thickness shot blasted and galvanized steel structure provides for suitable resistance.
The winkerlight WL60 type for floating lines basically consist of three sections:

MK OMNIDIRECTIONAL SOUND SIGNAL

The MK Omnidirectional Sound Signal is designed to meet the requirements for a marine warning signal that is audible from one half to two nautical miles.
The coding timer is controlled by a programmable electronic circuit to allow easy field alteration of the coding characteristic. To meet IALA specifications Morse and standard codes are used.
Being DC powered, it operates with a primary and secondary battery and solar panel, while AC power operates with a battery charger.
Voltage is between 11-28 volts maintaining a constant sound level.
The signal can be switched on or off in locally or by remote control. A two hours automatic restart feature is standard to prevent signal’s switch on during maintenance.
The structure is made of marine grade aluminium fixed on the structure’s base of galvanized steel and suitable for mounting on the platform deck.
Drivers are made of plastic and sealed for a marine environment. The control box houses electronic boards and can be settled away from the main structure.

DFS DIRECTIONAL SOUND SIGNAL

The DFS Directional Sound Signal is designed to meet the requirements for a marine warning signal that is audible from one-half to two nautical miles.

FL 892 MONITORING REMOTE CONTROL


The FL 892 Remote Control System has been designed to provide great reliability, and a simple user interface, in order to facilitate using all build-in functionalities. The entire system is made up of a Master Station (MS) and a set of Remote Station (RS).
The master station’s task is to send requested data to the remote stations, to receive files and to store all the data updates received. The MS is a Personal Computer (PC) (whit an internet connection) and it can send/receive data to each RS using radio or telephone line.
The link with the MS runs on a carrier which frequency and power are chosen according to the distance between stations and the relevant national legislation.
The RS is housed in a polyester IP66 box, able to protect its contents regardless of ruling atmospherical conditions.
The software can be adapted according to the customer’s needs. Each RS, in its basic configuration, can monitor sixteen digital input lines, eight analog input lines and can drive eight output relays.
The FL 892 remote control system can be reached from any place in the word: all the user has to do is: take his notebook PC, connect its modem to the telephone network and dial the MS’s modem.
When the connection is established, the remote user has access to all system functions, and the system’s response is displayed on the notebook display as if it was the MS’s display. RSs can work as radio bridges to let the MS reach one or more other RS out of its radio area. Each RS has a backup battery, so it can function even if the power supply is temporarily down.
Main applications are: Navigation aids systems’ real time check, aqueduct watching, back-up systems, alarm system, measurement system, and many others.

BATTERY CHARGERS

Battery chargers are used to convert energy from an AC source into a DC level for storage in a rechargeable battery. Generally the energy is alternating current from a commercial source.
This energy is modified to Direct Current at the proper voltage.
The chargers are constant voltage devices which regulate the current depending on the state of charge of the battery.
As the battery discharges, more current is supplied to recharge it.
Should AC power fail, the charger won’t consume energy from the battery.
CB- series chargers are all solid state regulated with no moving parts. This assures full stand-by service from the battery to the load.
All components are conservatively rated and the entire charger is designed for use in the marine environment. Optional accessories include LED spy and fuses.

SOLAR ENERGY CONVERTER

The solar energy converter by photovoltaic modules are composed of polycrystalline or monocrystalline silicon cells connected in series and assembled by lamination.
Thanks to its high power density and relatively small dimensions , this module is particularly suitable for navigational aids systems, telecommunication and in large installations.
Generated current is proportional to the solar radiation.

FL-15 SOLAR CHARGE REGULATOR

The characteristic of the charge regulator FL-15 is its low consumption of approx. 17 mA (without LED) that doesn’t influence the overall efficiency of the solar panel/battery.
A relay disconnect the photovoltaic cells when the battery tension exceed 14.5 V avoiding battery damage and reconnects them when the voltage goes below 13.3 V, ensuring the battery always being charged.
A second relay detaches the loader when the battery voltage goes below 10.5 V and connects it again when the voltage exceed 12.1 V.
This relay avoids damages caused by the total discharge of the battery and shortens the recharge period.
The terminal board settled on the mother board allows for easy wiring.
The 15 amps fuse protects the board from overload.
The regulator is put into a plastic watertight case IP 56 that protects the circuits from the atmospheric agents.

FLOATEX ELASTIC BEACON

A many years of experience have proven the value of this type of marine signalling device. FLOATEX Elastic Beacons have numerous advantages over the traditional buoy signalling systems, such as:
Accuracy in signalling the point to be marked.
The Elastic Beacon is limited in its movements due to it’s particular structure.
This ensures a remarkable accuracy in signalling the point to be marked when compared to the traditional chain or cable mooring system, calling for a length equal to twice or three times the water depth, which obviously leads to considerable displacements of the buoy in respect to the mooring point.
Height of the focal plane.
Thanks to its special configuration the Elastic Beacon offers the advantage of the marine lantern having the possibility to be positioned at a considerable height above the sea level.
In normal buoys, the focal plane is much lower as the buoy usually has a very low metacentre. In very bad weather conditions, a light on an elastic beacon will always be visible between two waves, while a buoy stays invisible in a similar situation.
Stability.

The Elastic Beacon shows characteristics of notable stability due to the vertical uplift ensured by the submerged float.
The stability also translates into an advantage for maintenance operations to the appliances as these are located on a platform plane easy to approach and which can be moved by the operator.
Maintenance.
Compared to the traditional systems, the Elastic Beacon only needs reduced maintenance due to the absence of chain sections and relevant surfaces exposed to the action of the water-line.
The Elastic Beacon proves to be the ultimate system for sounding physical or environmental parameters.
The great stability as well as the surfaces available on the platform plane, permit easy installation of instruments and wireless system for the transmission of data.

The Elastic Beacon consists of the following elements:
- Shot blasted and galvanized tubular steel structure.
- Rotomoulded polyethylene full filled by polyurethane foam.
- Tower for signalling.
- Elastic joint for mooring to the sinker.
- Shackle joint.

FLOATEX advises to use this structure for water depths from minimum 18 m to maximum 50 m, and keeps at customers’ disposal mathematic calculations of the dynamic behaviour of the beacon, guided by the necessary meteorological marine conditions previously supplied.
This calculation program shows the maximum angle of heeling expected to occur under the worst conditions prevailing at site, the periods of oscillation and the minimum distance at which the top platform is found to be located in respect to the sea level.
FLOATEX Elastic Beacon is the best navigation system for marking canals, dredged areas, harbour entrances, etc.
FLOATEX has patented the special system of mooring by elastic tubular rubber joint, which besides effecting a notable elasticity, ensures the absorption of any vibrations to which the system may be subjected, making it electrically insulated.
Elastic Beacons can be connected with main power as they don’t rotate.
For major mooring guarantee, a steel cable connecting the tubular section to the sinker runs inside through this tube.

SIG40 LIGHT BUOYS

The FLOATEX buoy type SIG40 belongs to the ultimate generation of navigational aids. The necessity of lowering as much as possible costly maintenance programs, typical of steel buoys, as well as the need to realize environmental friendly products to avoid negative ecological ambient impact from waste materials coming out on steel buoy regeneration (such as old paint, zinc coating and sandblasting) inspired FLOATEX to develop and realize the SIG40 buoy. The buoy body is realised in PE by rotational moulding system. The unsinkability of the buoy is obtained with the latest FLOATEX foam filling technique by recyclable 100% close cell expanded floating foam. The colour of the buoy is not obtained by painting but is embedded in the plastic so that no painting is necessary for almost the whole buoy life span.
The design of the buoy and the combination of the materials utilised allows the FLOATEX buoy type SIG40 to be installed almost everywhere: open sea, sheltered areas as well as channels.
Metal parts (top mark/passive radar reflector) are made of marine grade aluminium.
The buoy body type SIG40 has a good resistance to shocks and in case of breakages, although safely foam filled, all buoy components can be very easily repaired utilising a ‘’no flame’’ welding technique.
The 455 mm diameter of the buoy as well as the achieved stability may give a focal plane height varying from 1.5 to 2.5 m. Floatex buoy SIG40 is normally equipped with a 120SEC marine lantern giving light ranges from 1 to over 2 nautical miles.

The 2100 mm diameter of the buoy as well as the achieved stability can give a focal plane height of 3 m. The battery compartment is wide enough to accommodate up to 2 x 12 volt 105 Ah batteries as well as the solar power regulator.
Access to the marine lantern can be realised from both sides by means of two opposite ladders. A security all round ring ensures safe operation during maintenance services and solar panels can be fitted securely for maximum solar array. All the above mentioned structures are available in two different metal options: galvanised steel, stainless steel. Two big lifting eyes on top of the buoy body insures easy lifting and temporary mooring of the maintenance boat. PL SERIES SMALL LIGHT BUOYS

The series PL buoys with small body diameter are considered to be the most versatile of the whole range in as much as offering good stability and resistance with comparatively reduced dimensions.
They can be anchored in open sea for applications requiring a focal plane of less than 2 meters from the sea-level.
PL buoys can be provided with an ES60 or ES155 marine lantern to achieve light ranges between 1 and 3 nautical miles.
The steel superstructure allows for easy installation of solar panels and rechargeable batteries to make this signalling buoy self-supporting for energy.
Visibility during the day time is ensured through a metal day-mark, positioned on top of the tower with provisions by special construction arrangements for passive radaring, following IALA specifications.
The buoy body is filled with expanded foam as a major guarantee for unsinkability.
All metal parts of the buoys are sandblasted, galvanized with metalization and coloured with polyurethane marine paint.

1200 GS LIGHT BUOYS

The buoys with a 1200 mm body diameter are considered to be the most versatile of the whole range offering stability and resistance with comparatively reduced dimensions.
They can be anchored in open sea for applications requiring a focal plane of up to 3 meter from the sea-level.
The 1200 GS is a buoy qualified for marine lanterns with 155 mm diameter dioptric drum lenses, giving light ranges between 3 and 6 nautical miles.
The angular steel superstructure allows easy installation of solar panels, making this signalling device self-supporting with regards to energy.
At the upper part a battery pack can be installed, which also holds a regulator in the event of any solar panel energy feeding.
The final treatment, of FLOATEX product , consist of shot blasting to metal, galvanising the complete system and subsequent painting in IALA colours by means of polyurethane marine paint.
To guarantee unsinkability, the buoy body is filled with expanded floating foam.
Visibility during day time is ensured through a metal day-mark of large dimensions positioned on top of the tower, with provisions by special construction arrangements for passive radaring.

MPE 2200 LIGHT BUOY

The light buoy type MPE 2200 is formed by a floating body composed of 4 polyethylene rotomoulded shells floats filled with rigid polyurethane foam, to guarantee unsinkability in case of damages.
The central structure is a polyethylene tube that connect every part of the buoy: floats, counterbalance and the superior part. The length of the central structure can be varied, so the focal plain and the stability can change slightly.
A big "CUBE" increases the visibility of buoy MPE 2200 and ensures the accession to the marine lantern.
The buoy, normally, has a CSP (Compact Solar Power) system and a LED 120-256. Other signalling systems as well can be used.
The buoy type MPE 2200 has been designed to work in open sea with a relative high focal plane and relative big water depth.
The buoy, almost in plastic materials, permit a very limited maintenance. Utilization of solar panels and LEDs ensure extended operating electrical system.
Easy-handling provisions has been made by two lifting eyes on top of the floats. Another two eyes are fixed onto the lower section of the floats for attachment to the mooring sling.

MPE 3000 LIGHT BUOY

The MPE 3000 Buoy is formed by a floating body composed of 4 polyethylene rotomoulded shells filled with rigid polyurethane foam, to guarantee unsinkability in case of damages, and by a central metal structure suitable to fix shells and the mooring system.
The MPE 3000 Buoy, designed for heavy-duty work in open sea conditions and at considerable depths offers properties of great stability and resistance.
The standard type allows an ES250 marine lantern with 250 mm diameter lens to be mounted on a large size angular steel tower to give a light range of 10 nautical miles.
They are prepared for the use of large solar panels and can hold an active radar reflector (racon) wireless control system.
FLOATEX designed the MPE 3000 buoys in such a way that they can be disassembled into their main components, being cylindrical body, a tower and a counterweight.
Regarding the counterweight FLOATEX worked out a dismountable half-ring system capable of adjusting the draught of the buoy to the mooring weight expected to be applied making it possible for the buoy to be easily repositioned by adapting to the total weight to the diameter of the chain and the depth of the mooring point.
Easy-handling provisions has been made by two lifting eyes on top of the cylindrical body and at the tail of the counterweight. Another two eyes are fixed onto the lower section of the buoy for attachment to the mooring sling.

TBP REINFORCED POLYESTER

To facilitate the landing and approach to any type of ports, FLOATEX is involved, over many years, in the design and in the manufacture of a wide range of lattice tower, beacon and structure for navigation lightening systems.
For installations, especially in hard places, where normal cranes can't work, FLOATEX builds these signalling type.
For this reason Floatex take really in consideration the weight and the soundness.
The beacon tower type TPB are built with modular fibreglass elements of various heights up to arrive to requested focal plane.
The minimum high is 4.5 meters at the balustrade while the maximum high is 15 meters.
The tower include:
a) One base element with internal place to hold power supply equipment: batteries, batteries charge, control panels etc. This element is equipped with a pad locking door wave resistant.
b) One or more intermediate modules or elements conical or cylindrical in relation of the tower high.
c) A top platform with balustrade and walk way for marine lantern installation and maintenance.
d) Internal aluminium ladder.

PETB BEACON

FLOATEX PETB beacon is the solution to locate very shining daytime signalling everywhere: light is a strong point of this tower.
With modules made in rotomoulded PE we can build towers with different height to change focal plane. Module’s base is 0,86 m approx. and its height is 2,2 m as shown in figure in next page.
Normally, PETB beacons are equipped with CSP-410 solar system and LED155-BL Marine Lantern, but can be installed other power or signalling systems. Upon request can be installed top marks and boards.
Lighting equipment can be reached easily with a scale, according to security provisions.
One foundation frame into concrete foundation base ensure to mount with no trouble the tower.
External armature ensure resistance even where wind and wave are very strong.
